About OpenUptime
OpenUptime is an open source uptime monitor with public status pages and an MCP server, so a person or an AI agent can run your monitoring. It is MIT licensed, runs on Cloudflare Workers and Postgres or in Docker, and is also offered as a hosted service.
The facts
- What it is
- Uptime monitoring, incident handling and public status pages in one product.
- License
- MIT. The source is at github.com/becoolme/openuptime.
- Monitor types
- HTTP and HTTPS (with keyword matching), TCP, DNS, heartbeat, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Redis; SSL certificate expiry on the hosted service from Lite.
- Alerts
- Slack, Lark / Feishu, Telegram, PagerDuty, email and webhooks.
- Status pages
- Public pages with 90-day history, email and RSS subscribers, and custom domains on the hosted Team plan.
- For automation
- A REST API with API keys, and an MCP server with OAuth that can be scoped to a workspace or a project.

Hosted plans
Prices are in US dollars, billed monthly. The limits come from the same table the product enforces; see the pricing page for the detail.
| Plan | Price | Active monitors | Checks / month | Shortest interval |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 / month | 3 | 26,000 | 5 min |
| Lite | $5 / month | 50 | 300,000 | 1 min |
| Starter | $19 / month | 300 | 2,160,000 | 1 min |
| Team | $49 / month | 1,000 | 6,480,000 | 30 s |
What it does not do
- No built-in on-call rota or escalation policy; alerts can be sent to PagerDuty for that.
- No ICMP ping or UDP monitor type, and no browser transaction (Playwright) checks.
- Status page subscribers get email or RSS; there is no SMS, and no private or audience-specific pages.
- SSL expiry monitoring and custom status-page domains are hosted-only and are not in the MIT edition.
