On October 23, 2026, the Ruby project released security fixes for vulnerabilities in its regular expression engine (CVE-2026-89078, CVE-2026-93577, CVE-2026-97229, CVE-2026-110264). Cloudinary upgraded its core platform, including its upload, transformation, and delivery APIs and Console, to the patched Ruby version on the same day. Customers who use Ruby in their own applications, including with the Cloudinary Ruby SDK, should update Ruby in their environments to a patched release (3.3.13, 3.4.12, 4.0.9 or later).

Questions

Is Cloudinary down right now?

Cloudinary’s official status page says: All Systems Operational. This page checks it again when you load it, at most every 5 minutes.

When was Cloudinary last down?

The most recent incident Cloudinary reported was “Issues accessing the Cloudinary web UI”, 9 days ago (2026-10-16 20:06 UTC). None of its incidents in the last 90 days were a full outage.

Which parts of Cloudinary are tracked here?

Cloudinary reports 41 components on its status page, including Media Transformation API - US, AWS ec2-us-east-1, Media Transformation API - EU, Media Transformation API - AP, Adobe Creative Cloud Connector. Each is checked again whenever this page refreshes.

What should I do if Cloudinary is down?

Keep working from local or offline copies where you can, and hold off on large imports or sync jobs until it is back.

Uploads fail but delivered images still load?

Yes — Upload API and Media Delivery are separate components, each per datacenter (US/EU/AP). Delivery from cached/CDN URLs usually continues during an upload-side incident.

Which Cloudinary datacenter is mine?

Your cloud's region is set at account level — check Dashboard → Settings → your cloud name/environment details. The status page lists Upload/Admin/Transformation APIs separately for US, EU and AP.

How do I tell if Cloudinary is down for everyone or only for me?

If the status above is operational but Cloudinary still fails for you, the cause is probably on your side: try another network, clear the cache, or check your own connection. If it shows a degradation or an outage, others are affected too.

How can I get alerted when my own site goes down?

OpenUptime checks your site every minute and sends an alert to Slack, Telegram, email or a webhook the moment it stops responding. It is open source and free to start.
